? drivers for R2 cougar to use with the v2 haptic grips

I am sorry if this is brought up already (a search did not bring up anything)
I was wondering whether it would be possible to publish modern drivers for the Cougar R2 that can make use of the new v2 haptic grips.
It might even be better for the F-18 adapter as I assume the R2 is much sturdier than the Lightning bases.
