Uncommanded inputs on Y axis

Post by DB349 »

Hello,

I coincidentally noticed recently in the RS_HID_DEV_Tool that the Y-axis of my FSSB R3L MK Ultra was registering uncommanded inputs, mainly pitch down inputs, the red dot was effectively dancing up and down for extended periods of time on the upper part of the Y-axis without me touching the grip (F16SGRH). X-axis works normally.
I recorded some footage of this, pls advise if needed, the file is quite large.

Today I experienced a violent pitch down effect after takeoff in the DCS F16. I started to realise that I have had strange pitch upsets in DCS in the past, which were not very common, but I never suspected this base being the culprit, but now I finally see the link.
I see from other users that many experience similar issues, so I suspect I'm also suffering from maybe a degrading sensor ?

I bought the base+grip about 15 months ago but haven't used it that much since I regularly fly other modules than the F16 and I have different gear for different aircraft. At most I would say I used the RS gear for maybe 4 months at most. Quite disappointing if the hardware already starts to fail.

In addition, upon receiving the gear in April 2023, my base didn't register any button clicks from the F16SGRH grip (cf my post dated April 23th 2023), so I really didn't have much luck here. The problem was fortunately quickly solved by Javier, whose support was excellent, but still I think I'm not supposed to have to open up the internals of the base and make some tricky adjustments myself on a EUR 500 base.

So please advise what are the next steps ?

My firmware is MJF_FW_5_02_0. I suppose it's not software related, since the problems don't occur continuously and they seem to become worse as time passes by, suggesting hardware problems.

Thanks for your reply !

Regards.

A little follow-up...
I received support from the very helpful Javier from RS and I returned my unit to Spain after sending them some video footage of the issue at hand.
They could not replicate my issue, but they nevertheless swapped the PCB since they presumed my PCB was 'unstable'.
I have tested the unit now for 1-2 weeks and so far everything seems to work normally, so fingers crossed it stays like this...

I also have the same issue, and how to contact to the support team and return my base to fix my issue? Any one can help me? Thanks.
