What is a DX button?

I've read through the manual, and I know how to add them, but I don't know what a DX button is. Could I please ask someone to explain what is a "DX Button"?
Sorry that no one has answered you yet...dx button, means a directx input.
In simple words a joystick button recognized by windows...for example dx1 is direct x 1...the first button on a controller
