In what sense trim is inverted? if you check in the RS_HID_DEV_TOOL the hat appears as it should, i.e. it does not show Up when you click Down etc...
It is probably your setting in the game that needs inverting

Checking the Trim selection does not allocate the hat to trim, it only restricts the inputs to 4 (up-down, left-right) instead of 8 when used for POV.
You still need to allocate it
At least in DCS with the default keybind configuration, pressing POV down for trimming is equivalent to pulling the stick. I was expecting the same for RS trimming, but I don't know which one is the correct behaviour.
when you check if a gear is functioning properly, if you have a calibrating device (which you have with RS) you use that instead of deducting indirectly though a program. The trim works fine as far as I can tell

It doesn't. The point that you seem to be misunderstanding is that pushing up on the hat should trim the stick forward, trimming the nose down. Pushing down on the hat should trim the stick backward, pulling the nose up.

This behavior is incorrectly inverted.

I'm looking at the RS Tools result to see this.

It works correctly on the RS_HID_DEV and in BMS...
I wonder if the firmware in the shipped units is for BMS and generic

and I understand the trimming concept quite well, thank you very much

When you push up on the hat, the red dot in RS tools moves in the opposite direction of pushing the stick forward.

We're talking about the built-in trim function in RS Tools.

IK did not know of this function, accept my apologies.
I have always used the sim in built trim.

No problem, I figured this had to be a misunderstanding.

I use the built in trim in DCS currently, because I use modifiers with the trim switch to control views. If I did that with the RS trim, my trim would be changed when I slewed views around.

I'd be willing to give the RS trim a shot if this inversion was fixed.

Taking another look at this in RS tools, roll trim is also reversed.

Many thanks for the test, we will fix it as soon as possible, and will be released the firmware once we test it

THANKS again

I can confirm the same issues occur for me. Also, the trim hat sends both POV hat and buttons for Thrustmaster grip, i.e., double event for one action. It would be great if you could fix this, as it makes configuring bindings in many simulators a bit confusing (e.g., I want to map trim up to something, and press the trim up to configure, I expect to get just "POV Up" as the binding, but due to extra button it becomes "Button 27 + POV Up", which works but looks weird and will break if used with another firmware version that doesn't do this).
